Namaste

It feels like yoga holds the body and soul together. It gives us a balance between the inside and the outside. This poem here was written by Lauren Riis, who has been a resident at the Wellstone Center for a bit over a month now – although, it feels like we know her since a long time. I call it”Namaste”, but it actually does not have a title.

The house is quiet
I can hear every creak, the little steps
Already a familiar squawk from the front door
We stay quiet
We stay hushed in the moment
Holding seconds like dewdrops dressing leaves in the garden
These emptying coffee cups
You can hear the ocean in the last sip
It echoes
Becoming these beautiful cobras
Sleeping on yoga mats
Resting in warrior pose
We say-
Namaste
