Announcing Our First Monthlong Writing Fellow – Joan Anderman

For our first WCR Writing Fellow we’ve selected Joan Anderman, a former pop music critic for the Seattle Weekly and Boston Globe (clips here and here). More recently she’s been working on a project called middle mojo, which, she explains,  “incorporates interviews, essays, graphics, an audio diary and video to document my inquiry – part journalism, part personal odyssey – into the impact of aging on the creative process.”

We like that spirit of inquiry and are excited to welcome Joan to the Wellstone Center in the Redwoods for a month starting July 1. We hope she’ll get a boost from living in such a beautiful spot; we’re sure she’ll inspire us and hope we’ll inspire her as well. Sally promises to be the first to greet her, and will insist on only one walk on the Loop per day from Joan.
