wild cats

Our cats have arrived! Wait, there are.. one… two… three! But beware: These are not the kind of fur balls you want to cuddle!  Unfortunately, many cats (and other animals) are not lucky enough to be born into this life with a loving home and caretaker. Project Purr, a non-profit organization based in Santa Cruz, rescues many feral cats from a sad fate. Even if these cats are not up to being petted (yet), they deserve a humane treatment, not least because they can be very effective combatants against rodents. And contrary to common thinking, this often has a positive effect on the local population of birds. So, go cats, go!

After three weeks these cats can be released from their hutch.  And hopefully they will not run away, but stay with us. So, we are looking forward to opening our hearts to these wild cats!

We do not have names for our new residents yet. If you have any ideas, please make suggestions! Until now, they are just called: black cat, gray cat and tiger cat. What we know about them: Black cat never leaves her box. Gray cat has an insatiable appetite. And tiger cat still growls at us.. because she doesn’t know yet how much we love her!
