Launched in 2013 as part of the Wellstone Center in the Redwoods, Wellstone Books is a new independent book publisher looking to tap new voices through personal writing that is not afraid to inspire.  With traditional New York-based book publishing in transition, opportunities abound to engage an audience with heartfelt, considered writing that combines polish and a commitment to story-telling. Our team combines decades of editing experience with a wide-open sense of excitement at the new possibilities we will explore in the coming years.

Our first title, Ken Korach’s highly acclaimed Holy Toledo, featured a cover from noted New Yorker artist Mark Ulriksen, and was a regional bestseller. In May 2015 we published A Book of Walks by San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy, all about the good a long walk can do you, and in its first eligible week the book hit the Northern California Independent Booksellers Association Bestseller List.

We are always on the lookout for good book ideas that fit in with our concept. We are also seeking interns. For more information, please write to Publisher Steve Kettmann at steve@wellstoneredwoods.org.
